Dr Chau Yuen received the B. Eng, M. Phil and PhD degree from Nanyang Technological University, Singapore in 2000, 2001 and 2004 respectively. He is the recipient of Lee Kuan Yew Gold Medal, Institution of Electrical Engineers (IEE) Book Prize, Institute of Engineering of Singapore (IES) Gold Medal, Merck Sharp & Dohme (MSD) Gold Medal and twice the recipient of Hewlett Packard (HP) Prize. His Ph.D. thesis focused on the design, analysis and optimization of space-time block code. He was a Post Doc Fellow in Lucent Technologies Bell Labs, Murray Hill during 2005. Currently, he works in Institute for Infocomm Research (I2R, Singapore), where he involves in an industrial project on developing an 802.11n Wireless LAN system, and participates actively in 3Gpp Long Term Evolution (LTE) standardization. His present research interests include multiple-input multiple-output (MIMO) coding, multi-user MIMO, cooperative and distributed MIMO and wireless ad hoc network.
