For one reason or another, you are now visiting my homepage. I was born in a small town located in northern region of Malaysia, and having my primary and secondary level education there. Partly due to science fiction, I was fascinated by how science and engineering contribute to and influence civilization. To pursue my dream, I spent some times in University Technology Malaysia and Nanyang Technological University, Singapore, for my undergraduate and postgraduate studies. My Ph.D. research work was on subband adaptive algorithms for high-order transversal filters, under the supervision of Dr. Woon-Seng Gan. We proposed the Normalized Subband Adaptive Filter (NSAF), which is computationally efficient and proven to be extremely effective in dealing with colored excitation signals. Such algorithm is useful, for examples, in acoustic echo cancellation (AEC) and wideband active noise control (ANC) applications.

I am currently a researcher in the Human Language Technology Department, Institute for Infocomm Research (I2R), Singapore, working in the field of speech processing. More specifically, I am working on speaker and language recognition research projects, together with a team of researchers led by Dr. Haizhou Li.
