Short Biography

Edward received his Bachelor of Engineering degree with First Class Honors in Computer Engineering and his Ph.D. degree in Electrical and Electronic Engineering  from the Hong Kong University of Science and Technology in 2002 and 2007, respectively.  From May to July 2007,  he was a visiting student in the Department of Information Technology, Lund Institute of Technology, Lund University, Sweden. From September 2007 to June 2008, he was with the Department of Electronic and Computer Engineering of HKUST as a visiting assistant professor. Since June 2008, he has been a Research Fellow in Institute for Infocomm Research, A*STAR, Singapore.

Edward has participated in several standardization groups within IEEE 802, especially the 802.22, where he has been an active contributor and the working group secretary. He is pursuing research in a number of areas, including wireless communications, communication theory, and signal processing for communications. Work is also being done on signal processing and analog integrated circuit design for data storage and memory applications.

I am currently looking for highly-motivated graduate students with solid mathematical background and are interested in wireless communications, signal processing for communications/data storage.
