Huang Zhiyong黄智勇joined Department of Computer Graphics and Interface, Institute for Infocomm Research (I²R), A*STAR in January 2007. Before joining I²R, he worked as Assistant Professor in School of Computing, NUS and Lecturer in Department of Computer Science and Technology, Tsinghua University, China. He received Ph.D. from EPFL, Switzerland in 1997, with a thesis on human animation, M.Eng. and B.Eng. from Tsinghua University in 1988 and 1986 respectively (more about Tsinghua).

His research interest is in computer graphics. He is a member of IEEE , ACM , ACM SIGGRAPH and ACM SIGGRAPH Singapore Chapter ( 2002 visit ).

He is an editorial board member of the Journal of Computer-Aided Design & Computer Graphics. He served as a PC co-chair of ACM VRCAI 2008 and PC member of conferences including PG (2003 and 2005), CGI (2005 and 2008), ICCA 2002, VRCIA 2006 , ChinaGraph (2002, 2004, 2006), IEEE CAD/Graphics (2003, 2005, 2009), ICEC 2007, ICIP 2004, MMM 2006, PRICAI 2006, VSMM (2006 and 2009) , ISVC 2009, DASFAA 2005, CoMoGIS (2005, 2006), IEE Mobility Conference 2006, and APWeb 2003.
