Huang Zhiyong黄智勇joined Department of Computer Graphics and Interface, Institute for Infocomm Research (I²R), A*STAR as Senior Scientist in January 2007. Before joining I²R, he worked as Assistant Professor in School of Computing, NUS and Lecturer in Department of Computer Science and Technology, Tsinghua University, China. He received Ph.D. from EPFL, Switzerland in 1997, with a thesis on human animation, M.Eng. and B.Eng. from Tsinghua University in 1988 and 1986 respectively (more about Tsinghua).

His research interest is in computer graphics. He is a member of IEEE , ACM , ACM SIGGRAPH and ACM SIGGRAPH Singapore Chapter ( 2002 visit ).

He is an editorial board member of the Journal of Computer-Aided Design & Computer Graphics. He has served as a program committee member of conferences including PG (2003, 2005), CGI (2008, 2005), ICCA 2002, VRCIA 2006 , ChinaGraph (2002, 2004, 2006), CAD/Graphics (2003, 2005), ICEC 2007, ICIP 2004, MMM 2006, PRICAI 2006, VSMM 2006 , DASFAA 2005, CoMoGIS (2005, 2006), IEE Mobility Conference 2006, and APWeb 2003.
